Colophon
Notes on how this site is put together, for anyone who cares about that sort of thing.
Build
Built with Astro and shipped as static HTML. There is no front-end framework. The only JavaScript on the site is the theme switch, the print button on the Experience page, and the X12 explorer on the EDI case study, and every page works without it.
Content lives in a few typed data files, so updating a job or a service never means touching markup.
Design
Headings are set in Newsreader and body text in Public Sans, both self-hosted. The layout borrows from printed résumés: a narrow column of labels, a wide column of content, and hairline rules between sections.
Colors are a handful of CSS custom properties with a light and a dark set; the site follows your system setting unless you pick one in the footer. Page-to-page transitions use the CSS View Transitions API, and they turn off if you've asked your system to reduce motion.
Details
- Every page has a print stylesheet. The Experience page prints as a résumé.
- The EDI flow diagram is HTML and CSS rather than an image, so it reflows on small screens.
- Focus styles are visible, and every interactive element works from the keyboard.
- Layouts are checked at phone, tablet, and desktop widths in both color themes.
Hosting
Deployed on Cloudflare from the main branch on every push.
